Mom was right when she said PBS was the only TV worth watching.

A couple of weeks ago, I watched a captivating doc by Scott Hicks about composer Philip Glass. I liked it so much that I just had to search through the PBS website to find it again.

Incredibly interesting to hear the nostalgia of SoHo in the late 60's and the huge influence Glass has had (and still does have) on pop culture. Seriously, check it out.
Today I picked up a fruit tart for the agency intern (her last day is tomorrow- after she goes, I will again be the youngest person at the office) at Bread & Chocolate.
That place is RIDICULOUS.
I could seriously go into carb overdose just by breathing inside their doors.
So, this is what I ate for supper.
Well, not the whole thing.
A little hummus + avocado = bread heaven on earth.

when I grow up, I wanna look like . . .

lately, i've been gearing up for summer
(aka taking winter sweaters and slacks up to the attic and replacing them with sundresses).
i've nothing much to say of any worth today . . . and so instead . . .
SOME PERSONAL STYLE INSPIRATION
------------------------------

bare faces, unruly hair, cute-sie clothes

with a dash of rock 'n' roll.

i really do love being a girl.

in my fantasy world, i can get away with wearing a top hat to work.

sigh.

Delightful bites

This weekend I got motivated---
motivated to experiment with a new cupcake recipe: dark chocolate cake with Andes candies baked into the middle and peppermint frosting.
You can be the judge:
Don't you just want to cuddle them?
Okay, maybe not . . .
The frosting was from scratch. Yay for me.
Everything else was from a box. Eh.
------
On Sunday, my bestest friend told me about these fab cocktail dresses that, "are totally you, Ab."
She was right- you can tell the girl has known me since middle school.

Glorious day

First official beach day of the season.

10 o'clock this morning in Rye, NH. My camera phone pic doesn't capture the true splendor.

Happy Weekend, everyone.

April showers

. . . bring May flowers.
Oh, how I long for sunshine, seatbelt buckles that are too hot to touch and standing in line a 10 o'clock at night for a sorbet at Goldenrod (only the single best place to grab a cone in Manchester). I don't have the credits for this photograph, but I love it. Until then, I shall make myself happy with simple things that are
terribly girly and help me through Early Spring Doldrum:
Fabulous pagodas.
Not sure how well it will keep you dry, but it's adorable.
All I can seem to sing is Rihanna's "Umbrella" song.
"Ella, 'ella,'ella . . ."
As a sidenote, this weekend is supposed to be ridiculously
warm and beautiful.
The plan is to hit the beach
---
I'm buying a new skimboard tomorrow night.
Here's to hoping I don't break my arm on Saturday.

Stoked for summer

A list of things I can't wait for:
watermelon
white havaianas
the way your skin feels when sea water dries and
leaves salt stuck in your arm hair (that happens to everyone, right?)
fireworks
late-night drives to loud copeland
driving home in the sun after a long day at work
blowdryer hibernation
weekend family beach days
chai tea lattes with elizabeth
here is a clip that totally rocks my world right
now (same director as love actually and
notting hill --- which i completely love).
comes out some time in august --- just one more
reason summer should be here NOW.
