making our own personal springtime

a lot of my favorite bloggers have been posting about how
glooooomy
it feels right now.
and they are right;
this stretch between the holidays and spring is rather brutal.
child-like anticipation ceased
pretty decorations dismantled
cheerful christmas music shut off
tasty cookies no longer baked
{okay, maybe this is a good thing}
the snow is no longer fresh and pretty
the cold gets old
and winter starts to feel overall too long and depressing.
will spring ever come?
right about now is when i reaaaaaaally appreciate my best friend.
she is intent on creating our own personal springtime
while we wait for the snow to melt
and flower to bloom again.
this saturday we have the most incredible list of
ridiculously girly things to do.
all day long.
i'll tell you about it later . . . i am reaaallly excited.
we're also planning a couple of trips to get out of new hampshire.
a couple of great shows to see
{the editors, wilco, joanna newsom, muse . . .}.
and watching the olympics!
we're determined not to let the cold and lack of sunlight
get us down.
ohhhh, and i just remembered that monday is a holiday . . .
hooray for sleeping in!
