for the love of beautiful things.

i've been scouring pinterest lately, daydreaming about how
i might decorate a future home with mr. wonderful.
our house would be a neutral palette-
light tones of pale grey, whites and mochas-
mixed with tiny splashes of pattern and bright hues.
it wouldn't be minimalist, but clean and modern with
vintage touches and mid-century furnishings . . . all snagged at yard sales,
craigslist, and perhaps just a few splurges.
lots of photography, art and framed pieces
propped on shelves, bookcases and mounted on walls.
books arranged by spine color and
organization solutions just as pretty as practical.
we may not be in our dream home just yet,
but for now i'm perfectly happy making our little apartment home together.
now if only we could find the perfect chevron drapes . . .

you can make chevron drapes! I'm currently obsessed a little bit with chevron. I want a overscaled patterned rug for a guest room. Just bought some cream & pear green chevron fabric for a chair, but it might become part of a window treatment instead. (I got it for $14/yard... not terrible).
