diy: modernizing a way too traditional lamp.

one of the aesthetic doozies in our home was this little guy, the classic metal swing lamp with small glass table top. while totally and completely functional {hence why we kept it}, it was totally . . . blah. we swapped its shade for a while for a short term face lift, but it didn't do much. john finally had enough and suggested we do something to spruce it up. after agreeing on a bright color {my votes for hot pink and shiny gold were rejected} and a patterned shade with a modern shape, we began our project.

we still have a few small touch-ups to do, but we're really happy with the results. what do you think of bright furniture pieces in your home?
i hope you have a marvelous weekend, sweets. i'm finally headed to a stylist to cut my out-of-control mane . . . maybe not too exciting for you, but it's big news in our home ;) me and my new {old} bangs will see you again on monday!

I love the new look! It looks like something you would buy from Modcloth!
