it's not too early for a valentine.

happy february first! it's time to start making your valentines! who i am kidding? i've been working on ours for a month. it may have been a few days too soon to hang my first valentine's day decoration, but that didn't stop me from making a little hearted something for the inside of our front door earlier this week.

we had a tornado warning in the middle of the night a few days ago, which meant john and i woke up to the eery sounds of wind, pouring rain and the nashville siren sounding off every five minutes. tornados still frighten me {even after living here for a whole year} and i couldn't sleep, so i got up and ate a bowl of cereal and played on pinterest for an hour and a half before feeling like i could fall back to sleep. of course, this all meant i woke up grumpy when our alarm went off at 7 am a few hours later. grumpy and gloomy because the skies were still gray, the ground was wet and john didn't have the day off like me.

so, i hung this little banner while i was home. it made being by myself seem a little more cheerful and the skies just a tad bit more on the sunny side. and since today is the first of february, maybe you will want to make one too? here is where i got it- free printable alert!
